ACT/SAT Testing ACT and SAT. The difference in the tests is that the ACT is an achievement test, measuring what you have learned in school; the SAT is an aptitude test, measuring reasoning and verbal abilities. Different colleges accept different tests, so check the websites of the college(s) to which you plan to apply.
ACT Preparation Guides and registration information flyers are available in the guidance office. ACT (no writing) costs $46.00; ACT (with writing) costs $62.50.
